BMO Unveils Plans for Flagship Chicago Headquarters to Accelerate U.S. Growth 
BMO Financial Group announced plans for a new office tower in Chicago. The new BMO Tower will be developed by Riverside Investment & Development and Convexity Properties, in partnership with the bank. Approximately 3,600 employees will ultimately be located across 14 floors of the 50-floor, 700-foot building, which opens in 2022. 

Waypoint Leasing Files Chapter 11 to Further Restructuring Process 
Waypoint Leasing, an independent global helicopter leasing company, announced that it and certain of its subsidiaries have filed voluntary petitions for relief under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Waypoint has run a comprehensive sale process over the past months and received bids from numerous parties. 

Hitachi Opens Dallas/Fort Worth Transportation Finance Office 
Hitachi Capital America opened an office in the Dallas/Fort Worth area to support the company’s continued expansion of its transportation financing activities. Located in Flower Mound, the new office includes key members of Hitachi Capital’s Transportation Finance team, including Kirk Mann, Dave Herring and Thomas Ball. 

TD Integrates AI-Powered Chatbot “Clari” into Mobile App 
TD Bank Group launched TD Clari, a new chatbot integrated into the bank’s mobile app that empowers customers with in-the-moment personal spending insights and helps them make everyday transactions. Clari leverages Kasisto’s leading Conversational AI platform, KAI Consumer Banking. 

Signature Bank Receives Regulatory Approval for Blockchain Solution 
Signature Bank unveiled a new digital payments platform, Signet, designed to enable real-time payments for its commercial clients. Signature Bank partnered with blockchain-based infrastructure technology company trueDigital Holdings on the platform. It has been approved for use by the New York State Department of Financial Services. 

CLFP Foundation Adds 26 New CLFPs

Alta Supports FGL Investment in Pacific Rim Capital 
Pacific Rim Capital received a significant investment from Japanese lessor Fuyo General Lease. The Alta Group initiated the transaction and acted as exclusive financial advisor to FGL on it. 

FASB Issues Narrow-Scope Improvements to Accounting for Lessors 
The Financial Accounting Standards Board issued an accounting standards update expected to reduce lessors’ implementation and ongoing costs associated with applying the new lease standards. The ASU also clarified a specific lessor accounting requirement. 

Amazon Expands Partnership with ATSG, Leases 10 Boeing 767-300 Aircraft 
Amazon expanded its partnership with Air Transport Services Group by leasing an additional 10 aircraft to support Amazon’s growth. Amazon previously leased 40 Boeing 767 freighter aircraft in 2016, 20 of those with ATSG, all of which are now serving customers in the Amazon Air network.

Huntington Introduces New Digital Banking Experience for Customers 
In direct response to customer feedback gleaned from a two-year-long listening tour, Huntington is rolling out “The Hub,” a digital banking experience for all of its customers. The development of The Hub is the next chapter in how Huntington is looking out for people by investing in and enhancing its digital and mobile customer experience. 

People’s United Bank Extends $135MM NFS Leasing Credit Facility 
People’s United Bank announced its Commercial Banking division closed on an amendment and extension of an existing $135 million syndicated credit facility for NFS Leasing, a Boston-based independent equipment leasing company specializing in leasing technology, scientific and medical equipment, as well as robotic, agricultural and construction equipment.

GATX to Acquire Up to 3,100 Railcars from ECN 
GATX entered into an agreement to acquire a fleet of up to 3,100 railcars from ECN Capital for a purchase price of up to $229 million. The fleet consisted predominantly of freight cars with an average age of seven years. Closing on the transaction required customary regulatory approvals. 

CIT, Macquarie Provide $100MM Financing for CA Battery Storage Project 
Macquarie Capital closed a $100 million debt financing of an innovative battery-based energy storage project in Southern California. CIT Group, which led the initial financing through its Energy Finance unit, was also the lead investor in the refinancing, where it was joined by Rabobank and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking. 

Stonebriar Closes $81.6MM Term Loan Led by DVB Bank 
Stonebriar Commercial Finance closed a new $81.6 million term loan consisting of two tranches of 364- day committed funding for a portion of Stonebriar’s railcar portfolio. DVB Bank acted as arranger for the transaction. Lenders included the Land Transport Division of DVB and Mutual of Omaha Life Insurance. 

DLL Wins Vendor Finance Leasing Life 2018 Award 
DLL won the 2018 Leasing Life Vendor Finance Provider Award. The awards included senior leaders in the European leasing industry for a conference on the key issues of digital and the transition to a digitalized model for leasing and other key topics. 

Wintrust Leads $24.2MM Financing to Oilfield Services Co 
Wintrust Commercial Finance funded approximately $24.2 million in debt financing for an Oklahoma-based oilfield services company. WCF will hold $7.5 million of the transaction and has successfully syndicated the remaining $16.7 million to two separate investors. The funds were used to purchase a new frac fleet, the company’s fourth overall.
